Nutrition and Fitness RX
So, I’m in no way a fitness or nutrition expert BUT I’m an avid learner and like anything we can learn from what we repeatedly do.
My fitness journey with Beachbody started in 2003, and has been ongoing since. The initial style we were introduced to was a 90-day “bootcamp” where circuit training and cardio were alternated from day to day for six days a week.
THINK “WORKOUT 101.” It was called “Sectional Progression.”
We did a series of strength training exercises in a particular order:
- Back
- Chest
- Shoulders
- Biceps
- Triceps
- Legs
- Abs

Then, P90X came out and we elevated our awareness to focusing our training sessions to two muscle groups per training session. We worked them to exhaustion, then let them rest for an entire week. On the alternative days, we did cardio and yoga.
Cardio days introduced Plyometrics and Kenpo karate. Did I earn a black belt? NO! But I did burn a ton of calories kicking and punching for an hour.
The P90X training style was the REAL GAME CHANGER.
These 90 days were focused on muscle confusion. There were three week periods of strength training, cardio, and a week recovery.
SOOOOOOO…I learned HOW to schedule my workouts to provide variety and muscle confusion.
And, the biggest factor was a NUTRITION PLAN. Here’s a video I did on the P90X Nutrition Plan…
All of the P90X training I did continues to help me to this day.
Today, we have SO much more in Beachbody on Demand (BOD)!!!
